50 Years of Scientific Endeavour

Newcastle West Vocational School and Desmond College have a proud tradition in all aspects of scientific endeavour.

Our students have and continue to strive to achieve their best, be it in their studies, on the playing field or in any of the many extra curricular activities they become involved in. This dedication is none more evident that in relation to their achievements, past and present in Science Competitions.

As the 50th anniversary of the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition approached, it was agreed upon to mark the occasion with this unique publication.

Over the years, students of West Limerick have shown tremendous imagination and a desire to create and run their own businesses, it comes as no surprise that many of them since completing post primary education have established their own businesses and have gone on to create employment in their communities.
